Hagen Family Brownies

“I grew up eating and baking these brownies. There was no such thing as a brownie mix then. As I cooked more and more I tried different recipes to get a chewier, soft brownie, but this is still a good one.” – Mama J

Hagen Family Brownies

  • 2/3 cup melted margarine
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup canned milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)
  1. Melt margarine and pour into mixing bowl.

  2. Add sugar and cocoa. Stir.

  3. Add eggs, canned milk, vanilla and salt; stir.

  4. Add flour and mix well.

  5. Pour into 9×13 greased pan.

  6. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
