Sugar Cookies
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Cream together first three ingredients.
Stir in the water and vanilla.
Sift together the dry ingredients and gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
Chill dough for 1 hour or more.
Roll out and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
Bake at 425 for 5-7 minutes.
