Wacky Cake

“When Papa J and I were in Bible college we would go to to English’s house where lots of college students congregated and Mrs. English would make this cake for us. It was such a treat to eat something homemade. It is quick and easy to make and is also yummy.” – Mama J

Wacky Cake

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  1. Heat oven to 350.

  2. Combine dry ingredients in a 13×9 pan and stir with fork.

  3. Add remaining ingredients to pan and mix well.

  4. Bake 35 minutes or until done.

  5. It's great with cool whip, plain, or with White Mountain Frosting.
